Warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. The Chinese Gender Calendar, also known as the Chinese Birth Gender
Chart, is considered one of the oldest methods for predicting the gender of
an unborn baby. It is also one of the simplest, where the only necessary
information is the mother's age at conception along with month of conception.
To the rationally minded, such predictions may seem absurd, but the question
is: do we really understand the subtle operations of nature and the universe?

At ChineseGenderCalendar.info we are confident that the original calendar,
used in the correct way, was a precision tool (like acupuncture) and that the
accuracy in ancient China was near 100%. Today, several different versions of
the calendar are circulating on the internet and probably as many instructions
for how to use them. Many sources are claiming to have calendars that are
more than 90% accurate, but we have not been able to verify any such claims.

Our goal and the very reason for launching this website, is to go
beyond speculations, restore the facts and reach 100% accuracy
again.
Based on statistical methods we have tested various existing versions
of the calendar and selected the most accurate. You find the calendar under
the 'Usage' tab, along with instructions for how to use it.

By following our instructions you will currently achieve an
accuracy of about 75%
(i.e. the chance is 3 out of 4 that you will get
the gender you want). The figure is nowhere near 100%, but is based on
systematic research rather than rumors and speculations. Our objective is
to improve the calendar, mainly by collecting and analyzing prediction
data from around the world. You can join our effort by testing the
calendar on known births in your family and among friends and taking
part in our survey.

We have detailed instructions for how to use the calendar (under the 'Usage'
tab) and an explanation for how this apparently simple tool can be used to
predict gender (under the 'Theory' tab). You may find it helpful to
view that
information for getting more out of the Chinese Gender Calculator
hereunder.
Once you understand the principles of using the calendar the
calculator is a convenient tool for making fast and easy predictions.
Usage instructions
The Chinese Gender Calculator
lets you predict and plan gender
without knowing how to use the
calendar at all. The script will warn
you if the chosen conception date is
not suitable for gender selection.
Steps:
1. Enter the mother's date of birth
2. Select whether you want to use
'conception date' or 'baby's birthday'
3. Enter the date corresponding to
your choice in 'step 2'
* If you want to base the calculation on the baby's birthday
you must provide the calculator with the normal date of birth
(i.e. 9 months from conception); not the actual date. If for
example the birth took place 2 weeks early, you should add
14 days to the actual date of birth.
